Sue is great. And quick! Which I like. I hate going to get my hair cut and it turn into a whole days event!Her help is to be desired though. Got my hair cut by them and ended up going home and cutting my hair myself since one side was NOTICEABLY shorter then the other

And I went today and a new women did not know how to cut hair. She hacked it up and it looks horrible. I asked not have have the length cut and she said she was layering and not cutting, but it's too short to tie up. I wanted feathering on top, and she did not know what that meant. Not good. I stopped the hairdresser, and got up and left. I called to let the owner know, but I won't go back.

I'm hesitant to write a review because this place is such a well-kept secret; however, in the interest of helping others look great, I'll share. Sue and her staff at Hair Dr. are the best. They keep me looking fabulous, without breaking my bank account. It just doesn't get any better than Hair Dr. I am very picky, and the stylists there don't give me any reason to complain about my cut. I constantly receive compliments on my hair. Word of warning: if you are looking for a full-out salon experience with pampering, luxurious surroundings and a spa-like environment, then Hair Dr. is definitely not for you. But if you want a fabulous cut (they cut your hair dry) for $10 + tip, then you'll love Hair Dr. After a Hair Dr. cut, I run home and wash and style it myself -- and my hair looks fabulous. Frankly, my hair looks better after Sue (the owner of Hair Dr.) has had her scissors in it than it does when I've spent more than $100 on a NYC haircut. I LOVE Hair Dr. It's the best in Torrington.
