We are an Independent Congregational Church located in the West end of Torrington, CT. We are a Bible-believing congregation that is reaching out to our community with the love of Christ. We offer regular activities for families, Bible Studies for new christians and discipleship courses for those seeking to grow in their Christian walk. Anyone who is seeking to make a personal difference in their own lives and in the lives of others is welcome. Join us this Sunday for worship. Our Home Page picture is of an original art piece painted and presented to the church by one of our members. We believe in the freedom and responsibility of the individual soul, and the right to private judgement. We, as members of the Church of Jesus Christ, are called to accept the cost and joy of discipleship, to be His servants in the service of our fellow man and to resist the powers of evil. As His people we share in Christ's baptism, eat at His table and join Him in His passion and victory. We accept as our Statement of Faith the following: "We believe in God, the Father, infinite in wisdom, goodness, and love, and in Jesus Christ, His Son, our Lord and Saviour, who for us and our salvation lived and died and rose again and lives evermore ; and in the Holy Spirit, who takes of the things of Christ and reveals them to us, renewing, comforting, and inspiring the souls of men. We are united in striving to know the will of God as taught in the Holy Scriptures, and in our purpose to walk in the ways of the Lord, made known or to be made known to us. We hold it to be the mission of the Church of Jesus Christ to proclaim the gospel to all mankind, exalting the worship of the one true God, and laboring for the progress of knowledge, the promotion of justice, the reign of peace, and the realization of human brotherhood. Depending, as did our fathers, upon the continued guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth, we work and pray for the transformation of the world into the kingdom of God ; and we look with faith for the triumph of righteousness and the life everlasting" We are called as Christ's Church to proclaim His Gospel and to live lives that reflect our Christian faith. We strive to inspire in others a love for Christ, a passion for righteousness and a recognition of their duties to God and their fellow man. We pledge our lives to Christ and covenant with one another to demonstrate His presence through worship, witness and ministry to the needs of the church and the community.
