He attended undergraduate at California State University Dominguez Hills and then obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. Dr. Truong completed a 3 year Podiatric Medicine, Foot and Ankle Surgery Residency at Encino-Tarzana Hospital and several Kaiser Permanente locations in Southern California.

He is extensively trained in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, trauma, sports medicine, and diabetic foot care. Dr. Shun also received advanced training in a month long fellowship rotation on foot and ankle surgical techniques in Germany.
