Good local place for mongolian bbq but the restaurant itself is stuck in the 70s. Place could use some updating but the food is cheap and good.

For all my friends who, like me, for decades loved The Golden Camel Mongolian BBQ on Hawthorne Blvd., near Torrance Blvd., and who, like me, mourned the decline of this favorite local after its transfer of ownership (the new owners MESSED WITH THE SAUCES!!! YOU NEVER MESS WITH THE SAUCES!!!) . . . I have excellent news!! On a whim last night, I decided to give my old haunt one last chance . . . and almost drove away upon seeing it had been completely remodeled and turned into a half ramen half Mongolian restaurant with a new name . . . SO glad I didn't!! I was hesitant until I stepped through the door and saw a familiar face . . . the previous owner!!!! I was totally blown away!! He told me that he purchased the restaurant back (no surprise the morons who had bought it from him went out of business!) . . . my initial skepticism was replaced with hopeful optimism . . . Despite the remodel and somewhat different set up . . . everything was there . . . including the sauces . . . From my first bite I realized . . . MONGO IS BACK!!!!



It isn't often one is afforded the opportunity to regain a decades long favorite like this once lost . . . This is one of those opportunities! So get the word out!! Let's support this man by returning to the place we all loved for so long!



By the way..... there is still a small sign in the window that says "Golden Camel Mongolian BBQ" . . . so the old name has not completely gone away!

Basicly Put: *EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS RESTAURAUNT IS SPECTACULAR*!!!!! The meat types offered, the More-Than-Friendly waitressess, the available toppings, (E.g. Broccoli, Onions, Garlic, Sprouts, etc, etc), and the BEST part of ALL: *THE OILS*!!!!! Just grab a bowl, get whatever meat you want and put in it, get all the toppings you want, Carefully, yet Generously choose from the Many different OIL types they have available putting however many amounts of each you want to have on your creation, and then give it to the Professional Chefs to your right who cook it all up *FRESH* on this HUGE cauldron-like grill. Then, after they hand the steaming, mouth watering bowl back to you, sit down and *FEAST*!! This is, BY FAR, my **FAVORITE** All-You-Can-Eat restauraunt; BAR NONE!!!!! Again: SIMPLY *SPECTACULAR*!!!!! The flavor from the OILS will have you Literally ADDICTED to this place with your First Bite!! I know I was. I felt like I was in Food Heaven, hehe!! What A Restauraunt, INDEED!!!!!
