- Dental ExaminationA full denture is a complete upper or lower row of teeth mounted on a gum-colored base. The teeth are made of plastic, porcelain or a combination of these materials. Dentures over a normal course of time will wear and need to be replaced or relined. Regular dental examinations are still important for the denture wearer so that the oral tissues can be checked for disease or change. When creating a new Full Denture there will be four to five appointments to verify the look and fit that is best for each patient.
- Teeth CleaningEven if you brush and floss regularly, Plaque and tarter builds up on your teeth naturally, Plaque and tarter if left on your teeth provides a breeding ground for harmful bacteria that can cause gum disease, tooth decay, bone loss and other serious dental problems. Coming regularly for dental cleanings removes these deposits and helps to prevent gingivitis and periodontitis and promotes your overall health. Studies have gown that getting your teeth cleaned regularly can improve the risks of heart disease, stoke and increase your lifespan. The American Dental Association recommends having a dental cleaning at least once every six months.
- FillingsDr. Goldasich strives to give each of our patients multiple option when possible for dental treatment. Amalgam fillings are an affordable way to restore a tooth that has decay. Dental amalgam fillings are created by mixing elemental mercury and alloy powder composed mainly of Silver, tin, and copper. Amalgam fillings are sometimes referred to as silver fillings due to its color. If your in need of an affordable dental treatment amalgam fillings may be an option four you. All dental treatment results may differ from patient to patient.
- VeneersVeneers are an excellent way to resolve several dental issues like; cracked, chipped, broken or stained teeth. Dr. Goldasich has mastered the technique and will create a beautiful smile that will match your personality. The permanent veneers take two weeks at the lab to be completed. While your permanent veneers are being fabricated we will provide you with a set of temporary veneers to wear. Once your veneers are fabricated, Dr. Goldasich will bond them into place, giving your teeth a natural new look.
- CrownsRoot canal treatment involves relieving pain and discomfort by removing the nerve tissue located in the center of the tooth and its root or roots. Dr. Goldasich will prep the tooth by drilling through the biting surface of the tooth to expose the pulp, which is removed with very fine metal files. Medications may be used to sterilize the interior of the tooth to prevent further infection. Each empty root canal is filled with a rubber-like material and medicated cement. Occasionally a metal pin (called a post) is also inserted into the canal to help restore the tooth. The opening in the tooth is closed with a temporary filling. Once the root canal treatment is completed, it is essential to return promptly to have crown created. Dr Goldasich will only do root canals on Anterior Teeth (front teeth) that have not previously had root canals or crowns.
- BridgesBridges are dental crowns that replace a section of missing teeth. There are many different materials that bridges are made of, porcelain, gold alloys or combinations of materials are usually used to create your custom bridge. Dr. Goldasich will discuss with you the material that will best work with your lifestyle. Bridges help restore the natural contour of teeth. There are several types of bridges that Dr. Goldasich can restore for you, including conventional fixed bridges, cantilever bridges and resin bonded bridges. Treatment involves two phases, including preparation of the teeth and completion of treatment. In preparing a teeth for a bridge, some of the tooth above the gum line is removed to create the foundation for the bridge. The missing tooth will have a pontic (a tooth fabricated to sit above the gum line) that has two crowns connected on opposite sides.
- Dental BondingBonding is a more affordable and less intense alternative to veneers, requiring less tooth enamel to be removed. Dr. Goldasich offers dental bonding that is completed in just one visit. The process involves bonding a tooth-colored resin to a tooth, and curing it with ultraviolet light. Dr. Goldasich can fix a number of imperfections that stand between you and the perfect smile...
- Root Canal TreatmentCrowns are created in the lab with different materials, Dr Goldasich will discuss with you what material will work with your lifestyle. There are many different materials that crowns are made of, porcelain, gold alloys or a combination of those materials. The purpose of a crown is to strengthen a tooth damaged by decay, previous restorations, to protect a tooth that has had root canal treatment, or improve the way your bite fits together. Crowns are also used to restore or improve the appearance of damaged, discolored, misshaped or poorly spaced teeth. Treatment involves two phases, including preparation of the tooth and completion of treatment. In preparing a tooth for a crown, some of the tooth above the gum line is removed to create the foundation for the crown.

- General DentistryDr. Cheryl Goldasich began working in the dental field when she was only fourteen years old as a dental assistant in her fathers, Dr. Robert Laxineta's office in Torrance, California. Ten years later, Dr. Goldasich married her husband, John and they had a daughter, Samantha. After more than fifteen years of working chair-side with her father, Dr. Goldasich decided to go back to school to become a dentist at the age of thirty-two. She graduated from the university of Southern California in 1999 and opened her practice in Torrance in 2001. Dr. Goldasich provides dental emergency services in Torrance as well as Cosmetic and General Dentistry. After the opening of her practice, Dr. Goldasich decided to return to the University of Southern California as a clinical faculty in 2007 where she assists dental students with clinical and patient care. Dr. Goldasich currently lives with her husband in the South Bay area and enjoys reading, yoga, and vacationing.
