She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Carey College and a Master of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society Texas Nurse Practitioners Association, National Nurses Business Association, and the Obesity Medicine Association.
