- Bryan D. Royer, DC, DACNB is the only healthcare provider in the Greater Toledo area certified in Graston Technique. Graston Technique is a treatment that helps to break up adhesions in joints, muscles and fascia in order to decrease pain and improve range-of-motion. While it can be used to help almost any patient, it is very commonly used to keep high level athletes functioning at their best by the healthcare providers involved with the collegiate, professional and Olympic levels. Dr. Royer also uses another technique to help people function normally and recover from pain that few in the area are properly trained in. Dr. Royer is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) and is trained to use Kinesio Tape to reduce pain, improve blood flow, reduce swelling and improve the function of joints and their muscles. Kinesio Taping received a great deal of exposure during the Beijing Olympics when Kerry Walsh wore it to deal with shoulder pain after having rotator cuff surgery. She and her partner, Misty May-Treanor, went on to win the gold medal in Women's Beach Volleyball. It has been seen used by Serena Williams, Lance Armstrong, David Beckham and during the Super Bowl and the NCAA Basketball tournament as well as many other places. Graston Technique and Kinesio Taping are often used on elite athletes, but most patients can benefit from the techniques. Dr. Royer has had success treating the following types of conditions. Arthritis Carpal Tunnel Headaches (Migraine, Tension, etc.) Numbness and Tingling Pinched Nerves Repetitive Motion Injuries Rotator Cuff Syndrome (shoulder pain) Spinal Disc Injuries Sports Injuries Strains & Sprains Plantar Fasciitis Whiplash Work-related Injuries Motor Vehicle Collisions Traumatic Brain Injuries
