The Catholic Diocese of Toledo, established in 1910, is a social service and welfare organization governed by a bishop. Its Catholic Charities ministry provides counseling services in the areas of family and marriage relationships, life stage adjustments, domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse, premarriage preparation, behavior problems of children and adolescents and pregnancy. It also provides a full range of outpatient chemical dependency services through individual, family and group therapies for adolescents and adults. Located in Toledo, Ohio, the organization offers a nurse education course that prepares them for several roles, including health educator, referral agent, coordinator of volunteers, developer of support groups and health advocate. The Catholic Diocese of Toledo also offers free pregnancy counseling, short-term mediation, housing and employment, adult advocacy and community emergency services.
