General Info

From humble beginnings, Palermo’s began as a simple pizza shop on 63rd St. in Chicago of 1961. Palermo’s got its start from the first generation of our Sicilian family with one key idea in mind: to make a better pizza. Combining their old world recipes with modern trends, Palermo’s quickly gained a reputation for outstanding service and pizza. Our unique sweet sauce used in our pizza is a highly guarded family secret. Our family continues to make the sauce, sausage, dough and cheese blends by hand themselves, ensuring its quality remains at our high standards. Palermo’s has been able to expand its reach all throughout the Southwest Chicagoland area and offers delivery and catering services as well as carry out. Our menu has expanded over the decades to include authentic Italian pastas and dinners as well as many appetizers, sides, and salads all made from scratch daily. We always make true taste our priority. From humble beginnings, Palermo’s began as a simple pizza shop on 63rd St. in Chicago of 1961. I highly reccommend this pizza to everyone, it always hits the spot. I get a pizza about once a week and I always leave with a smile on my face.

Outstanding pizza with tons of fresh ingredients and lots of cheese. Sauce is a bit sweet so cut down on it if you don't like it really sweet. Dinners are outstanding as well, taste like right off the boat!

Stay Away....

Whoever is running the oven has a lot to learn. They cook their pizzas too fast; they're done on the outside, but not on the inside. Good ingredients, but they need to be cooked properly. It's such a shame to have a Palermo's right down the street but their pizzas are inedible. I still have to drive to the other side of Orland to get a good one.

Big shoes to fill.

Palermo's opened up another restaurant to satisfy the Tinley Park/Oak Forest area however the quality is not up to their usual standards. I ordered during their opening weekend and was disappointed in the quality of the pizza. It was poor compared to their Oak Lawn and Orland park locations. They must have been in a big hurry, like many of the big chains, choosing quantity over quality. The pizza that I received was seriously under-done with the cheese barely even melted. The cheese was actually white, not a nice golden-brown like it should be. The sausage was so rubbery that I thought it would bounce away. It will be quite a while before I try them again. I would not recommend them. I grew up not far from the original location on the southwest side of the city and it was always a favorite. Just like Giordano's when the quantity went up, the quality went down. I hoped it would never happen to Palermo's, but alas, it has.
