Serving Award-Winning seafood and steak since 1972, Billy’s Stone Crab Restaurant is waterfront and built completely out of native Cypress and Pine. The waterfront view of the natural harbor, Hurricane Hole, is spectacular.

This restaurant is one of my favorite after-church brunch places. I like to sit where I can see the lagoon and watch the birds. They have great eggs benedict and several other choices.

We went there on a recommendation of a friend and had looked forward to it. Unfortunately, the experience was well below par. I had the Blue Crab Claws & Salad for $12.95. No choice of dressing - house only. Typically fine if the house dressing is good. There was so much dressing on this salad that the lettuce was wilted/drooping. The crab meat seemed old and shriveled. I ate almost none of it. My friend had a grouper sandwich with fries. He did enjoy his sandwich - and I would hope so at $16.95. The ambiance was nonexistent, although there was a lot of varnished wood, upon entering it was like entering a bad hotel restaurant. The person at a nearby table was complaining about their steak - it was ordered rare and came well done. I wish I could convey the experience in better terms - but the bottom line is, going out to eat should be a worthwhile and quality experience. For over $40 (soda-not alcohol), there are much better choices.
