Founded in 1981, Amtech Systems conducts its business on a worldwide basis. Its customers are manufacturers of silicon wafers, semiconductor device fabricators, wireless communications, optics, MEMS and solar cells. The company designs, manufactures and sells systems for automating the loading and unloading of silicon wafers from all brands of existing and new semiconductor diffusion furnaces. It also designs, manufactures, sells and installs double-sided precision lapping and polishing machines, as well as complementary products that include carriers, wafer polishing templates and machine parts. Amtech Systems is publicly traded on NASDAQ under the symbol ASYS, and is located in Tempe, Ariz.
