Premium Standard Farms, founded in 1988, is one of the largest pork producers in the United States with more than 210,000 sows in production in Missouri, North Carolina and Texas and state-of-the-art processing facilities in Milan, Mo., and Clinton, N.C. The company is accredited by the Department of Agriculture. Premium Standard Farms markets pork to domestic retailers, processors, food service providers and export customers in more than 20 countries. The operating groups of the company consist of production and processing. Its production operations are based at Princeton, Mo.; Dalhart, Texas; and Clinton, N.C. The company staffs more than 1,800 employees in its production operations. Its more than 300,000-square-foot facility in Milan employs over 950 people, processing 7,000 animals daily. Its 800,000-square-foot facility in Clinton employs more than 1,200 people, processing over 9,000 animals daily. Premium Standard Farms maintains a location in Tarboro, N.C.
