Worse part they think I didn't have no proof ....yet the stupid union can't do nothing because they in it together....this company so horrible no good at all no hours....full of liars and lazy people around...no freedom no respect!!!

Provided by YPmobileBeing in the trucking business for 30 yes, the past 15 to 20 yes coming to Smithfield packing it has been a cluster mess trying to park, and get on the dock with all the trailers u have parked in this place. The trailers that are dropped in front of the dock doors need to be 30 ft further bk so that the truckers can bk there trailers on the dock without worrying if they gonna hit something. The spotter trks have no respect for us as truck driver. The parking is unreal. (A cluster mess). So many accidents. No facility for drivers and there spouses. No place to get food worth eating if there here longer than 2 to 4 hours. The vehucals that are parked in front of the dock doors need to be in the parking lot. And last but not lease the people working where you sign in, if u worked as slow as they did I'd be fired. They need to be. And hire people who care to be there. As a truckers wife I'm being very nice. As a truck driver have respect for us and our truck and trailer. Because without us..you would be nothing.

Provided by YP.comI had a similar situation. My oldest son became sick on the day before my birthday. I took him to the hospital that night and they admitted him. The next morning(my birthday) he had to have his appendix removed and I called my job to let them know. When he was released I tried to go back but wasn't allowed. I was told years later that I could return, but if that was the case they should have just let me return when I was ready...

Provided by YP.comSmithfield Packing in Tar Heel is a terrible Company to work for. The pay is O.K. for the area but believe me you work for every penny you earn and then some. Management sucks big time and could care less about their employees. They fired this one guy I know when he was out of work after he had surgery to remove a blood clot in his leg. Mind you he worked for this Company for 15 years. They sent him a letter when he was recovering from his surgery stating he was fired. He did inform Smithfield he was hospitalized and had surgery. Did they care--NO!! This Company sucks big time. The Union at Smithfield, UFCW, is a piece of garbage too they only collect their fees and could care less about the workers who pay their huge salary.
