Northwest Middle School is a coeducational institution that provides learning opportunities for students in grades six through eight. The school teaches physical education, health, family and consumer science, music, art, reading, technology, math, science, social studies, world languages, English and language arts. It offers a variety of sports activities, such as soccer, cheerleading, cross country, football, field hockey, tennis, volleyball, softball, and track and field. The school has a parent-teacher organization that conducts monthly meetings and distributes school information to parents. It provides membership for various groups, including student leadership, media aides and courtyard club. Northwest Middle School is a part of Carroll County Public Schools and is located in Taneytown, Md.
