I'm extremely distraught with every interaction with Loreyly MacKinnon, Jim Staples, and Invitation Homes.
I've made a career in PR working with Fortune 500 companies internationally to build and maintain customer relationships.
I've never seen anything this bad.
We were begging for mold issues to be fixed for over 2 months (7 days is the Florida law for acknowledgment).
They gave us 24 hours to move. We received zero help for the move, even though we requested it.
My dog ate glass from the backyard that wasn't cleaned up when we specifically requested the backyard be cleaned up before we moved.
Now, we've had to invest our own money into this home to fix the fence.
We didn't withhold rent AND we didn't contact a lawyer or the press. We wanted to give Invitation Homes the opportunity to make it right.
The amount of time and money we've lost into two of Invitation Homes properties cannot be replaced. I genuinely hurt and disgusted that Invitation Homes can take advantage of people like this.
All we asked was to do the right thing.
Instead, they've ignored our requests, lied to us, wasted more of our time, and painted over the mold.
The only comfort I have is knowing that they have to live with their choices. I would never treat a customer like this.
I don't know how they sleep at night knowing they are doing this to good, hardworking people.
I only hope they do not do this to another family that doesn't have the means we do.
