I had knee surgery at this center and my husband and my 83 year old mom accompanied me to the facility. My daughter, who is in MI was not able to be there. As with every surgery, big or small, there is always this fear of not waking up from anesthesia and I was no different. About 15 or 20 minutes before the surgery, as we were waiting for them to take me into the operating room, I asked my husband to call my daughter so I can hear her voice and say that I love her. Please keep in mind that there are no signs in this facility that state cell phones are not allowed. No signs anywhere. My husband dialed my daughter's number and suddenly a nurse (unfortunately due to BBB's rules I can't name her, but her first initial is K) stormed into our area and started yelling at us as if we were 10 years old kids who have done something wrong. She yelled that we can't use the phone and saying something about we could be recording other patients. She was very rude and abrupt. My poor 83-year old mom, who does not understand much English, was shaking and didn't know what was going on. I was shaking, because I was already nervous about the surgery and here is this nurse, who is supposed to be nice to patients and give them courage and comfort them, yelling at us and being extremely rude. My husband said: Okay, okay, I am putting it away. But all that nurse did was to yell, one last time very rudely,: Yes! Put it away! I was truly shaking and also very upset that I didn't get to hear my daughter's voice before surgery. If I ever need another surgery, I will make sure to look for another facility and avoid this place. Because of this nurse, we all had a truly bad experience with this facility. Her behavior made us more nervous than we already were and I believe she does not deserve to be in this occupation. Her demeanor is a perfect fit for a prison guard.
