Worst experience I've ever had at a dealership. Ever. My husband and I went in yesterday after taking a look at the inventory online. We had found a Subaru we were interested and they claimed on the ad it was very "clean". We spent two hours there, dealing with the application, and then with the finance lady, originally being told they'd give us a range of what we could be approved for. Instead they only tell us that we were approved for this Subaru. And the pushing begins. We had test driven the car, and were pleased with it. I got on the phone with our insurance company while my husband went to go talk numbers with the "sales manager". I was waiting for a return call and decided to join him. At which point I learned that the advertised price was not the price at all. Apparently there is some hidden disclaimer that attempts to explain that the price reflects the total after a $3000 down payment is made. However, the disclaimer reads like you are expected to bring a minimum $3000 down payment, and that the price advertised is still the price. Mind you this was two hours into the excursion. So I bring up KBB as the sales manager pulls up NADA and we compare values. KBB, which is notoriously HIGH, was lower than the NADA, and his price was over $2000 over the clean retail. This vehicle was not clean. It had PDR work done on both passenger doors and the passenger quarter panel, and it was not done well. The entire right side of the car would need paint and bodywork to be considered a "clean retail." And as someone who worked in that industry I know that would run anywhere from $2000-$3000 and up. The interior was great, and it seemed to be mechanically sound sure, but it was by no means clean. So we attempt to get them to be realistic with their numbers, and were told mr. Sales manager doesn't actually have the authority to change prices... odd. He has to make a phone call first. So we wait. He budged by $500, which was frankly a slap in the face. We wrote down our numbers and told them if they had anything different to offer to call us. Then they had us wait longer while they tried to get it down more. And still no change. So we're on our way to another dealership. And here comes phone call number one. Nothing major, just thanking us for coming in and letting us know we were approved financially if we wanted to take a look at any other vehicles. We found a great deal at the Kia in Brandon, and walked out ready to sign papers in the morning. This morning I get the second call. This time it's the salesman. Thanks us for coming in, and asks if we had reconsidered the offer they made. I asked if anything had changed, since that was the only reason they were to call us, and he said no. Then he started to try to convince me why I should be ok paying more than clean retail for a ten year old vehicle. I politely asked him to stop, and when he refused I hung up the phone. He called back another time and I informed him that his phone calls were not welcome or wanted and that if he called again I would be making a police report regarding the harassment. I hung up again. This IDIOT called back three more times after that. I honestly cannot even begin to describe how insulting and rude he was. So aside from wasting two hours of my day yesterday, he's now wasting even more of it today with time I'll be spending at my lawyers office and the police station. This is a marketing scam specifically designed to get consumers to give up their personal information. It is completely misleading and definitely false advertising. So I also have to waste even more of my time calling the various offices making sure no one steals my identity. This place is a dump and needs to get shut down ASAP.
