I got my hair done in tree braids by Cynthia 9/19/15 and she was great and very professional. I like that my appt. was at 7 am and she was there on time. I love the environment there it was very pleasant and I am definitely going back .

I've been in Tampa for four years. I have tried several African braiders. Now that I have discovered Cynthia at Akwaaba, I will not go anywhere else. All others pale in comparison. I have had other braiders who are late, disrespectful, unnecessarily expensive, rude, and act as though they are doing you a favor. They know who they are and you know who they are. This is a peaceful place. Ms. Cynthia is a kind and fair woman. She braids beautifully and you can sleep the first night! I highly recommend her. Her prices are competitive and very much worth it.

I have been getting my hair braided by Ms Cynthia for over a year now and once again she's delivered. I got the Senegalese Twist and they came out nice just as I suspected and I have been getting compliments on my hair since I got it done which was on 02=17-2014/ Thank You Again Ms Cynthia your the best!!!

I would recommend anyone with natural hair short hair to her. For one she is very patient and you can't tell that she really loves what she does. She takes her time and make sure everything is neat. There was no one else in the shop in the salon so one of her other stylists helped and it came out looking the same on the both sides. My habir is about 2-3 inches long and its natural andtthey gripped my hair with no problem! I was really amazed with the turnout of my hair and I can't wait to go back again

Akwaaba African hair braiding is one of best braiding shop in tampa. the braiders know what they are doing. i have being going there for about a year now and i highly recommends it. the shop is well kept and very clean. believe me you won't regret goin there.

Akwaaba always have the lateset styles. I'm always satisfied when leaving. Also Great Customer Service which is a MUST!!!!

I moved to Tampa in 2006. At first she was working with her sister in a store on fletcher Ave. And her sister does great hair as well! She alwasy makes time for my hair and does a great great job! Now that she has her own store I can honestly say That im so greatful of her. Over th years when I leave the state due to military obligations. I fly back just so she can do my hair. Great women and great store.
