For well over two decades, Marie Livingston's Steak House has fed Tallahassee residents its savory cuts of marbled beef, marinated in its signature secret sauce, along with the best Tallahassee seafood. The restaurant, which moved into its third location a few years ago located at Apalachee Parkway, is a raved-about local favorite. The type of restaurant where people plan 11:30 a.m. lunches and 9 p.m. dinners to escape the crowd. But what many Tallahassee residents don't know is that the popular steakhouse isn't an out-of-town chain, nor is the name a marketing gimmick. There is a real Marie Livingston.

Yeast rolls: Amazing House salad: Above average Entree: Chopped sirloin with onions and peppers; outstanding Dessert: Coconut cream pie; very good We were pleasantly surprised at this steakhouse. Portions are large, service quick, food quality wonderful. We may never be back to Tallahassee but will remember our dinner at Marie Livingstons

We've been to Marie's a number of times and have loved it each time. They have great steaks, and you have to try the rolls.

My experience at Marie Livingston's surpassed all expectations. The food was delicious and just the right amount. The staff was attentive and friendly but I was still able to have a quiet, intimate meal with my guest. I will definitely come back to dine again.

Remember it when.....just moved back to town and it was on my short list of places to revisit. Prime Rib dinner was great....like my beef still mooing. Server was really personable and attentive. She enjoyed her customers and interacted with them while caring for their needs. Surprised at decor. Liked the restaurant side but was a bit taken aback by concrete floor in bar??

I am still raving about the meal we had last night! If you want #1 for steaks and service, Marie Livingston's is your place! The BEST in Tallahassee!

We have dined at this retaurant about once/year for four or five years and never had a bad steak served to anyone in our party. We have the both the Porterhouse and the Ribeyes.

We received first class service by our excellent bartender on duty. A fine cooked steak for wife and pork chops for me. Salad fresh, hot bread and good baked potatoe. Remember you can get a good meal at a fair price and you support a LOCAL owned business. Place is usually crowded and there is a reason. BTW We had a retirement dinner at the old Marie's and they could not have been nicer and accomodating our large group. Many folks from out of town said they enjoyed their meal. A big group, no problem.

First time I had been there since they relocated,glad I went . Steak was as good as I remembered it from past trips . New location is nicely decorated ,very modern,well lit , and has a vey nice looking bar area as well . Service was very good,food was even better. Steak cooked just as ordered for entire party . Wanted dessert,but we were too full after dinner , the coconut pie looked as good as ever ,but I couldn't handle it on this trip.( in the past it was delicious ) All in all a great meal and a nice atmosphere to enjoy it in .

We ate dinner here with a group of 10 people and all were pleased with their dinner. I chose the beef kabob and it was delicious and less expensive than many other items. This dinner comes with a salad and your choice of a side. The veggie kabobs were a good complement to my meat choice. Our server was very attentive and the alcoholic drinks were made well and reasonably priced. It is expensive to eat dinner here so expect that. I have never been here for lunch.

Great food, great service. Jackie waited on us very polite attentive young lady. We both ordered steaks cooked to perfection and the homemade bread was awesome!

Love the atmosphere, the drinks are made well, the food is great, especially the steaks and salads. Love the piano player in the evenings -- such a nice touch.

I sat in the bar and had the pork chops. They were cooked to order and the meal was served quickly with no troubles. The price was reasonable for what I received.

Marie Livingston's Steakhouse is the best locally-owned restaurant in Tallahassee. It is also the best steakhouse in town. I have been several times and have never been disappointed. The staff has always been kind, courteous and responsive. I have had slow servers before, but never rude ones. My steak has always been cooked the way I ask - medium-rare. They get it right every time. ONE time, in a party of 10, one person in the party got an overcooked steak. He sent it back and got a new one, and a free dessert.

Besides Shula's, this is the best steak in town. The sauce that comes with it is amazing and the coconut cream pie is very good. I go about once a month and have never been disappointed.
