Headquartered in Tacoma, Wash., Toray Composites (America) specializes in the production of composite prepreg materials for the recreational, aerospace and industrial markets. Established in 1992, the company has a prepreg production facility and composites development center to conduct research and development for the development of new carbon composites. Its production facilities utilize computerized process control systems. Toray Composites (America) also specializes in the production of prepreg material and epoxy resin systems for the development of primary and secondary structures in aircrafts and helicopters. It provides a wide range of products under its private-label brand, such as carbon fiber unidirectional thermoset prepreg tapes, woven fabrics and epoxy resin systems. Additionally, its Torayca prepreg material is used for the manufacture of a variety of products in the industrial and recreational markets, such as tennis rackets, fishing rods, X-ray equipment and automobile parts.
