I needed to buy something to kill all the moss on my lawn plus my lawn needed fertlizing. They recommended a products that did both. I put it on my lawn and now my lawn is flourishing and my moss is completely gone.
I bought a Coral Bark Maple from them along with a few smaller Lace Leaf Maples. After the tree had been in the ground for a while, It started to split in the middle and became infected. I took pictures of the tree and went to the nursery on a Saturday. Their poor advice to me was to wait for the tree to die some more and replace it during one of their sales in September. They offered no other remedy to their poor product. I expected more quality from a tree I paid $329 for and took proper care of.
Great place to go when you have questions they will answer and help you through your plant issues. The staff is very knowledgeable and make you feel welcome. The plant quality is great! I have purchased many plants there and all have thrived. I would really recommend them.
Love the plant selection and great customer service.
I have used them many times. They are always helpful and go out of their way to help. If you want something that is not in yet, they will put you on a waiting list and call you when it comes in. I have done this on more than 1 occasion. I would recomment them to everyone.
I am not sure about that other person's experience but I have used the Portland Ave Nursery many times (having lived in the neighborhood) and always found them helpful.. much more so than a larger nursery nearby, and friendly. Even though we have now moved across town my family still makes trips to Portland Ave for the good experience. If you have questions that you need answered go here.
I bought two Clematis for $30 each, small ones. I thought although they were expensive (they were $11 at Costco) these came from a nursery and would be healthier. I planted them on either side of our porch, watered and fed them regularly and at the same time. One died, the other flourished. When I took photos of them to the nursery not only did they accuse me of not watering one of them and thus causing its death, but would not even give me a discount on a new one. The young lady in the building there was rude and had no customer service skills as my mother and myself were trying to explain what had happened. I will never shop there again.
nice people-good prices-thank you!!!
