AURORA of Central New York is a nonprofit organization that has for more than 90 years been serving individuals suffering from hearing and visual impairments. The organization conducts classes in conversational sign language, including tactual signing and oral communication. Its certified professionals provide rehabilitative and support services. AURORA of Central New York offers counseling, prevocational and educational programs for children and senior citizens. The organization assists visually impaired people with various living skills, such as clothes identification, cooking and hygiene maintenance. It provides assessment, referral and advocacy services. AURORA of Central New York additionally hosts an evening of food and music that include buffet, music and dance. The organization is located in Syracuse, N.Y.
