when i get old, i want to go live at Dogwood Acres. I have been taking my dogs there for 15 years...there is none better anywhere; Vivian and Roy know what they are doing!

We vacation in the area a couple of times a year. This is our first time using Dogwood Acres but will not be the last! They took great care of our two dogs. The facilities are spotless and you can tell the owners really care about the pets there. Antonio took such great care of our dogs I don't think they wanted to leave him! The owners are the nicest people and really care about the pets and the well being of the pets that are left in their care. I am very impressed and it's great know we can come to visit and if we want to take a day or two to explore the area that our dogs will be well cared for.

Beautiful Serene setting in a beautiful mountain range. Perfect for doggie nature walks, which they do provide. My husband Dr. Tim Johnston and I have been clients for 6 years and the only thing that I wonder about is my dogs appear more happy to leave me and go with Roy and they appear depressed when he leaves. The Dog Wisperer Has Arrived In Sylva. Seriously, the cleanest best run facility I have ever boarded my dogs and cats. We don't know what we would do without them. I have been a client of Dogwood acres for over 4 years and I can honestly say that if you need to board your animal in VERY CLEAN environment with people who will care for your pet as you would this is the kennel for you. These folks sweat the small stuff and are very proud of what they have created in their country getaway for dogs and cats. We have used Dogwood Acres since our Lab was just a puppy. Their care has been outstanding. The facility is very clean and well organized. I definitely recommend this facility.

We call it the Cat Hotel! Since 1993 I have boarded my cats with Vivian and Roy, and have never experienced any stress in any cat after their stay. When I had an old and sickly animal, I could, with all confidence, board him at Dogwood Acres...knowing that his health would be monitored. When my own health was precarious, I could count on having my old boy stay, even with very short notice. My current kitty has stayed there his whole life. Dogwood Acres has very stringent health requirements, and they are very careful to educate the owners. Boy do I appreciate this! I love the cattery area because it is only separated from the office by a screened wall. The cats are able to see what's happening during the day in a safe and comfortable place. They even enjoy classical music while napping and watching the business of the day. Five stars aren't enough.

Dogwood Acres is, hands-down, the best kennel I have ever used for my "girls!" Roy and Vivian truly love their guests and what they do. This translates into top notch care, personal attention, and happy puppies! My girls have been frequent visitors to their kennels and they really enjoy being there! (I know that Roy and Vivian secretly heap lots of love, attention, and praise on them while we are gone!) They also sell their dogfood which Roy delivers! Very helpful! I strongly recommend Dogwood Acres! They rock!

Dogwood Acres is the best kennel you will find! We call it 'doggie camp'. Roy and Vivian demonstrate their love and care for animals in every aspect of the operation. I do not worry one minute about my dog while I am gone. A recent experience with them is that I had an emergency away from home, and Roy picked up my dog and they kept her until I was able to get back home. This demonstrates the ultimate to me in care, not only for the animals, but for the people who are lucky enough to be an animal companion! Dogwood Acres is superior to any others you will find, anywhere for any price!

We try not to kennel our dog as she has severe anxiety issues during bad weather. However, we were forced to leave town for a funeral and got her into Dogwood Acres at the last minute. We were very concerned as storms were forecasted during her stay. They were very understanding and gave her the prescribed medication when necessary. She was also groomed during her stay and we felt they did an excellent job.When we picked her up, we were delightfully surprised that she didnt seem to mind the stay at all. After this experience, we would definitely trust them with our loved one again.
