Pardon any spelling/grammer error in this post No time to re-read but feel I need to post my concern somewhere!! First Student is a 5 star bus company. I have enjoyed their services for a number of years for my older children and only a couple for my elementary childen. First Student bus drivers have been punctual(once they have their routes down for the year :) , always greating me with a smile/wave, warmly greating the children, and always giving an ample amount of time for students to board and sit on the bus. My children always felt safe waiting for the bus at the bus stop. The bus stop has been in a safe location if not at our front door. Safty first is my motto! I have had no problems with First student for the years I have used their company. That was Until I had a change in bus driver. I do not have her name at this time. As parents we have alot going on work, laundry, shopping, TaeKwonDo, as well as getting our children off to school. Correct me if I am mistaken, most of us are not lucky enough to be able to transport our children to school everyday. I am guilty of not reading over the rules and regulations of first student. Until after this post! I have a special needs child who has a variety of disabilities. We no longer go to a bus stop the bus now comes dirctly to our home. Our driver, refeered to as driver#1, has been amazing! He takes time to great me and my child, he gets to know the children, the parents, what works for each child and equally as important what doesn't work, and he really does his job to the 100th percent. Most important to me he takesthe time to talk with me about my childs bus ride, if there were any comments or concerns he is sure to talk to me and since my son does not always ride the bus we have a system in place to save time in the mornings. Where if the doors are shut he is being driven if they are open w/ bag in hall he'll be riding the bus. However, a couple months ago we recieved a new morning driver, refeered to as driver#2,my son was apprehensive about a new driver as he likes things to be kept the same. My son informed me there were differences in the two bus drivers. As kids are very abservent souls, I assured him that differences are what makes the world interresting and put no further thought into his remarks. At first. Then I noticed differences for myself in the time she was coming in the morning then some days I could swear she didn't come at all or maybe I just didn't see her. Till I relized she was now coming down, for privacy the street names are changed, Davis St. instead of Winchester St. Our house is on winchester street driver#1 comes down winchester street and stops directly in front of my home where our front door is located. This is the safest way for my son to be picked up. Driver #2 started out coming down winchester st and stopping out front so i was quite curious why she would change route. To where now she is coming from davis st pulling into the intersection in front of my driveway and where we could not see the bus easily from our porch. I notified the bus company and the school where my son goes of the issues we have been subjected to with driver #2. I am now aware the new driver, in my opinion, is purposly avoiding picking my son up for school and causing him to miss his ride to school. My husband and I decided that driving our son when possiable would be better then leaving him in the care of a bus driver that was avoiding our bus . I had another episode this morning where driver #2 pulled up in front of my house on winchester street through my porch door she saw me zipping my sons jacket and started to pull away until I made eye contact with her and she stopped. This is the newest issue, if were not all the way outside on the sidewalk instead of our porch driver #2 will not pick my son up. That was the reason for my post today. I'm hoping this message will reach other parents who have had o

Dispatch has poor attitude when you call to ask where the bus is. Dispatch needs to work on how they treat the families of the students who ride with them. Its really a shame. Drivers are great. Just don't expect much help from dispatch if you have a problem.
