South Butte Market is your corner store good ol’ family market. Friendly, deli with all kinds of luncheon specials including fried chicken, deli sandwiches, Mojo potato wedges and macaroni salad barrel pickles just to name a few. They have a meat market that can not be beat the very best cuts of meat are found here. I really cannot give enough gold stars for their meat department. You won’t find budget friendly here but it’s worth every penny. I have been shopping here for 50 years. It used to be Mungers Market and when South Butte took over they remained to be the same awesome quality and service. Thank goodness some good things like SBM never change with the times 10+ five star all the way!

It's amazing the transformation this market has undergone in the last 5 yrs. Especially in regards to the meat dept/deli. The service is unbelievable, polite, courteous and always with a smile. The meat is always fresh and bright red and such a large selection with quite a selection of seasonal and holiday items as well. And the cooked food, especially the chicken and Jojo potatoes is heavenly. I give this market a huge two thumbs way up. Nice job management and owners.

This market changed hands a few years ago and the new owners have made some major changes, not only to the store inside and out, but the stock too. They've brought back the butcher shop/meat counter. Cold boxes were redone and fresh produce added along with a small ice cream counter and DVD rentals. Outside got a major facelift including signage and a redo of the parking area. Service is very good. It gives us locals a place to buy a items we need without a 20 mile round trip with a 30 minute wait in line.

As one of the other reviews pointed out, this used to be a nice little market...in the last few years it has gone down in quality (and quantity of selection)and is exceedingly dirty...when you have to dust off the products, see products on which old labeling is still present and have to check dates on everything, you know you're in trouble as a consumer (and store keeper). The interior smells of rotting food and rodent excrement (I cannot say for certain that is what it is...but I can say for certain, it is the impression your nose has when you enter the store). It is reminiscent of the odor your refrigerator interior has after a lengthy power outage, um...could that be the smell of decaying food. There is no produce, the meat selection (as stated) should be tested before eating or cooked to a char. Finally, I would like to say that the service is excellent to counter balance what I've stated, unfortunately I can't.
