Hello, My name is Tony, Maddox. Thank you for visiting my website. I have been fixing and restoring one thing or another most of my life. Not long after graduating high school I went to a diesel repair technical institute. I worked on tractor trailers, dump trucks, cranes heavy equipment etc, and have done about everything that could be done on them to keep them running. Did that for several years and realized I wasn't a good employee and didn't want my own diesel repair shop, so I started a small home repair business and was very busy. Then I met a man who talked me into doing commercial repair on office and apartment complexes. Between the truck repair and commercial work there wasn't much I wouldn't try to fix. Then the economy went to pieces. After sitting around for a couple of years not doing anything, we decided to move to Wyoming (I always wanted the bucking horse on the front of my pickup). I have been involved with repair and machine work for well over 35 years, I have smoked pipes and cigars for nearly as long. One day I bought several old pipes and stems, after repairing them I really liked the results. Then I read an article on Tim West and his repair business. After several conversations, I went and spent several days with him to learn how to do it from one that had been in the business a long time. I wanted to find the correct way to repair and restore these old Briars we love so. I have a small machine shop also and have made several of the tools needed to repair and make pipes. Unfortunately, due to the fragile nature of Briar , Meerschaum and other materials used to make pipes, all responsibility is with the owner for any damage done to a pipe during the repair process. Any undisclosed breakage or shank cracks will be repaired at the owner's cost before proceeding with the requested repairs. Minimum Reaming and Cleaning will be done at no charge to benefit a better stem fit and final bowl polish. Tony Maddox or Classic Pipes & Repair will not be held responsible for any lost package or damage to any contents by the shipping company coming to or returning from Classic Pipes & Repair or back to the owner. It is your responsibility for insurance coverage on your Pipe Repairs. Please request insurance, if necessary, back to you. Otherwise, it will be shipped back to you without insurance coverage.
