Beth El is a non-affiliated congregation that supports Jewish life in the Central Susquehanna Valley region of Pennsylvania. Nearby towns include Sunbury, Lewisburg, Bloomsburg, Danville, Milton, Selinsgrove and Northumberland. Colleges in the area include Bucknell University, Susquehanna University and Bloomsburg University. We offer a full range of activities, including regular Shabbat and holiday services, a pre-K through post-B'Nai Mitzvah ( Teen group ) religious school, adult education programs, and a wide range of social activities. In the Fall of 2007, our congregation completed a 3-year project to construct a new synagogue. Our new building was designed by the architectural firm Venturi, Scott Brown and Associates and has a complete set of facilities including an expandable sanctuary, social hall, three classrooms, a library, an interior courtyard, and an office for the rabbi. The synagogue is also fully ADA-compliant, with handicap-accessible entrances and bathrooms.
