- Pediatric CareSumter Pediatrics, P.A., provides equal access to all our patients accepted into the practice, regardless of insurance status. We accept most major medical insurance carriers and certain Medicaid plans. Please get in touch with our office if you have any questions about our office accepting your insurance plan.
- Primary CareThe patient-centered medical home is a way of organizing primary care that emphasizes care coordination and communication to transform primary care into “what patients want it to be.” Medical homes can lead to higher quality and lower costs, and can improve patients’ and providers’ experience of care.
- Emergency CareOne of the physicians from Sumter Pediatrics P.A. is on call after hours and on weekends for emergencies and can be reached by calling (803) 775-6311, where your call will be forwarded to our answering service. When our physician is busy, a trained nurse from our practice will return your call. Some emergencies are best handled by taking your child to the emergency room. Such situations might include serious breathing problems, unconsciousness, lacerations that need repair, and broken bones.
- ImmunizationsIf you have questions or concerns about vaccination, we will always take the time to discuss them in detail and will make a separate appointment for that purpose if necessary. If you are ultimately unwilling to comply with this policy, we will ask you to transfer your child’s care to another provider willing to conform to your preferences. We do not keep a list of such providers, nor would we recommend any such physician.
- Mental HealthWe are concerned with every aspect of your child’s health, including behavioral health. To ensure your child’s behavioral health needs are met, we will coordinate care with local behavioral health/mental health facilities if needed.
- Behavioral HealthWe coordinate patient care across multiple settings, including specialists, hospitals, rehab centers, behavioral health centers, and other facilities.
