SAGE, founded in 1954, is a private nonprofit organization concerned with the health, happiness and general welfare of older citizens and their families. It offers more than 10 programs and serves over 5,000 elders and their families annually in Union, Morris, Somerset and Essex Counties. It offers various home care services, such as bathing, nursing assessment, family respite, homemaking and assistance with medical appointments. It also offers various information care services that include entitlements, housing options, legal issues, seminars, support groups and long term care insurance. SAGE also offers shopping and errand service to residents of Summit, New Providence, Berkeley Heights, Millburn, Short Hills and Springfield who are age 60 or older. The organization has working relations Summit Area YMCA, Union County Division of Aging and Millburn Township. The organization is located in Summit, N.J.
