Located in Summerdale, Pa., Capital Area Intermediate Unit, an educational service agency, provides various educational and clinical services. The unit has various divisions, such as administration, business, educational, food, human resources, student services and technology. Its business service division offers various business-related services, including fiscal and plant management. It offers a wide variety of services, such as education, audiological services, autism programs, learning support, social work, surrogate parent program, behavioral support, and occupational and physical therapies. Capital Area Intermediate Unit employs more than 600 staff members. It serves students in more than 20 school districts, over 35 nonpublic schools and vocational technical schools in Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry and northern York counties in Pennsylvania.
