The Sheriff Department offers a wide range of programs and services to the residents of Hopkins County. It provides crime prevention, court testimony, prisoner transport, special event support, emergency response, and patrol and warrant services. The department manages the operations of jails and offers security for the operations of county and district courts. It also undertakes criminal investigations and enforcement of traffic and narcotics laws. Its areas of responsibility also includes acceptance of bail for prisoners in custody and conducting sales of seized and unclaimed properties. The Sheriff Department has its administrative office located in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
