The testing report, which takes a few weeks to write, will help confirm or clarify diagnosis, identify strengths and weaknesses, document changes in intellectual functioning, provide recommendations for compensatory strategies and may indicate referral to specialists in education, neurology, psychiatry or psychotherapy.

- Mental HealthPeople with panic disorder have sudden and repeated attacks of fear that can occur at any time and last for several minutes or more. These panic attacks are characterized by a fear of disaster or of losing control even when there is no real danger. People experiencing a panic attack may feel anxious and overwhelmed. Some may experience a pounding or racing heart, sweating, chills, chest pains, dizziness, or nausea. Left untreated, panic disorder can lower your quality of life because it may lead to other fears and mental health disorders, problems at work or school, and social isolation.
- PsychiatryTry to find a professional who is experienced in dealing with ADHD. Contact the Department of Psychiatry at your nearest medical school. You can usually find a reliable, well-qualified professional there, and they generally take insurance. You can also reach out to the national ADHD organization, CHADD at CHADD.org, or the Attention Deficit Disorder Association, ADDA, at ADDA.org. ADDitude Magazine is another superb resource. And of course, we at the Hallowell ADHD Centers are here for you always.
