Established in 1917, the Town of Stuart Fire Department responds to emergency calls, such as fire alarms, hazardous materials and vehicle collisions. The department works with a team of more than 40 staff members. It responds to over 4,500 calls annually. The Town of Stuart Fire Department serves a population of nearly 16,500 residents. The department also conducts public education and training programs. Its fire prevention office is responsible for the safe construction and safety monitoring of commercial and multifamily structures. The Town of Stuart Fire Department is governed by the City of Stuart in Florida, which additionally manages community redevelopment, development, emergency management, police, purchasing, recreation, financial services and public works departments.
