StrawberryInn is Located on the Sonora Pass, which is the shortest distance between Reno, Nevada, Las Vegas and San Francisco. Yosemite Park is located approximately 2.5 Scenic hours away. You are now in one of California's most spectacular regions. In Summer, you may choose to swim, canoe, water ski or fish in the pristine waters of Pinecrest Lake (1.5 Miles away) and the South Fork of the Stanislaus River. In the Winter, you can cross country ski or downhill ski at nearby Dodge Ridge Ski Resort or snow play at Leland Snow Park. It was established in 1939. It is an excellent, relaxing get-away. Ive been to the Strawberry Lodge over 5 times. About once a year we play in the snow and have lunch and take pictures down by the river. Usually, I love it there, but I have always noticed a bit of an attitude from the staff. This last visit, I thought about staying overnight. Until I spoke to the rude woman who answered the phone. She was downright nasty! I just lost all interest and quickly hung up. The food was great as always! The sampler of cheese sticks and zucchini was sooooo small and costs over $8!!!! It says 10 pieces but let me tell you, they are tiny pieces! I recommend that the owners or managers re-evaluate there prices! The young man who was our waiter didnt seen happy to be there at all and had no personality to speak of. He was in a rush and was even a little rude at times. The cakes are very yummy! I know this because I buy the same ones at Safeway for $12 and get over 8 slices. They charge almost $5 per slice! If you want some of their cake. Pick one up from Safeway!
