Established in 1882, The University Hospital is a 504-bed medical facility that offers a wide range of health care services. Located in Stratford, N.J., it has several centers offering health services, including Level 1 trauma center, neonatal intensive care, acute stroke center and a neurosurgical intensive care unit. Additionally, the hospital s radiology department offers a wide range of services, including ultrasonography, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, musculoskeletal radiology and mammography. The department of cardiology at The University Hospital offers diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitative care for medical problems, such as coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathies, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and abnormalities of cardiac rhythm and conduction. The Hospital offers patients financial assistance programs that include Medicaid, Family care and Charity Care. It also has several volunteer services, including working in the hospital pharmacy, deliver flowers to patient rooms, working in the pediatric units, delivering books to patients, and assist with tray preparation, straighten tables, canisters and stock silverware.
