- A Department of Transportation (DOT ) physical examination is conducted by a licensed "medical examiner." The term includes, but is not limited to, doctors of medicine (MD), doctors of osteopathy (DO), physician assistants (PA), advanced practice nurses (APN), and doctors of chiropractic (DC). The Department of Transportation will require you to take and successfully pass a physical and provide proof with a 'Medical Examiner's Certificate'. Federal law requires CDL holders to receive periodic physical examinations, called a "Department of Transportation Medical Examination", to ensure the ability of the driver to safely operate a commercial vehicle. Trucking companies and truck drivers typically refer to the 'Medical Examiner's Certificate' as a 'DOT medical card'. Please review all the physical requirements defined by the US Department of Transportation:

- AromatherapyThe essential oils are used in this massage technique which is determined by the massage therapist. They are chosen to therapeutically treat the emotional disorders of the client through the olfactory glands (through smell). Aromatherapy massage works when essential oils are inhaled by the client. When the fragrant oils are inhaled, a chemical message is sent to the brain which triggers a certain emotional response. This technique may be combined with Swedish or deep tissue massages.
- Deep Tissue MassageThe strokes of this type of massage are slower and more pressure is applied as in a traditional relaxation or Swedish massage in order warm the muscle tissue and reach the deeper layers of muscle. Although having a deep connective tissue massage shouldn't cause you any pain, it's often less relaxing and less comfortable then a traditional Swedish massage. Most practitioners ask that their clients tell them immediately if the stroke pressure is too intense.
- Hot StonesThis Native American massage technique uses dark, smooth stones heated in hot water. Each hot stone is gently placed on certain areas of the body such as the back, in the palms, and in between the toes. The stones are bathed in warm water and anointed with sensual aromas. Your trained therapist places them on key energy points and applies traditional techniques. Your session will begin with a soothing foot treat. The therapist will also use these stones to massage your muscles and leave you feeling fully rejuvenated.
- NeuromuscularFirst the therapist will locate the muscle spasm in the back and then concentrate the hands-on treatment to this area by applying continuous pressure for about 30-seconds with their fingers, knuckles and elbows. The same pressure must be maintained by the massage therapist for the entire 30-seconds in order to encourage proper blood flow in the area. During your first neuromuscular therapy session, you may be surprised when you feel some discomfort during the massage. This is normal at first, and as the massage therapist adds more pressure to their stroke the muscle spasm will melt away. After a few neuromuscular therapy massages, clients will often claim that the pressure was painful, but in a good way.
- PrenatalPrenatal massage has also been shown to improve physical discomforts by encouraging circulation and by stretching the muscles and joints to their full range of motion to improve skin elasticity and body tone. Studies show that pregnant women who receive regular prenatal massages are more at ease - furthermore relaxing the fetus inside their womb.
- ReflexologyReflexology therapist will apply acupressure and massage to the ears, hands and feet within these same zones. The client is said to benefit from improved circulation, detoxification, reduced tension and the body's ability to heal itself. Different spots in the body will have an effect on different internal organs associated with that particular spot.
- Sports MassageSports massage helps release any built up tension and lactic acid in the overworked muscles so that blood and oxygen can return to the muscle and effectively promote muscle repair. Sports massage, if received as part of a sports program, can help an athlete prevent injury due to overuse. It incorporates the techniques of Swedish and deep tissue massage as well as stretches to warm up the muscles.
- Swedish / Traditional Relaxation MassageA Swedish massage uses massage oils to achieve smooth, long and deep strokes over their client's body. Five basic strokes are used gliding, kneading, vibrations, friction and hacking are all applied in the direction of the heart in order to encourage blood circulation and the disposal of bodily waste. Therapists apply the oil to reduce friction, and essential oils are sometimes used in order to tap into a clients olphactory senses (sense of smell). During a Swedish massage a sheet is worn, otherwise the client is nude. However, body parts are only uncovered when they are being massaged.
