General Info
I haveover 8 years of psychotherapy experience. I pride myself on delivering evidenced-based, multiculturally sensitive psychotherapy. I help clients gain awareness of how their thoughts and behaviors impact different areas of their lives. I ask two questions: (1)is what you are currentlydoing working for you; and(2) what are you willingto change? As your therapist, my goal is to provide a safe space for you to explore and process your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.I align withmyclientsto cultivate asupportive, encouraging,non-judgmental, therapeutic relationship. During the therapy session, you can expect me to supportivelychallenge yourirrational beliefs, in an effort to help you develop insight about unhealthy behavioral patterns that negatively impact your relationships, self-esteem, and ability to set and accomplish goals. In addition, clients can look forward to receiving "homework", as most of the therapy process actually, takes place outside of the therapist's office. This is similar to a student learning something new in school and needing to go home and study it further in order to gain a better understanding of how to effectively apply the concept. I also use additional counseling techniques to address the individual concernsof each client. It is my belief that words are powerful. "Whatever a personthinks intheirheart, so they will be."What you tell yourself about something (an event, the nature of a relationship, your ability to accomplish a task) will influence how your body reacts or behaves.Your behaviorhas a direct impact on your feelings and emotions. "Crying does not indicate that you are weak. Since birth, it has always been a sign that you are alive." Please let me help you live a happier, more fulfilling life.
