Had reservation made four months in advance. Called the night before to advise the counter person that we would be there at about midnight. Was told, "No problem." Arrived the next night at 11:55 p.m. The counter person named "Sat" entered my name into his computer, paused, and then said, "You canceled." I told "Sat" that I had called the night before, and that I did NOT cancel! "Sat" said that he was there the night before and that I didn't call to confirm. My paperwork for the reservation says "Confirmed." He again said, "You canceled," but he wouldn't look me in the eyes when he said it. "Sat" is a liar. "Sat" was uncaring and unbending in his lie about me "canceling." So now, thanks to "Sat" an older couple (68 &70) has no place to stay. I began checking all the local hotels. They did a computer check and determined that no hotel had an available room. We began driving, and eventually found a dumpy motel 44 miles west at 3 a.m. !. As dumpy as it was, it was better than sleeping in the rental car in a strange area. My recommendation is to NOT rely on any discounted rate for this hotel because it's not worth the paper it's printed. on. Giving this hotel a one star rating is higher than it deserves. I'd rather give it no stars!

Follow up: "Tina" the PR person called one week later to apologize about the problem we experienced. That apology doesn't make up for the anger and anxiety we felt being without a room at midnight, and to have to search for a room in the early morning hours. "Tina" mentioned that at 6 p.m. my credit card wouldn't take the charge. Then I remembered that a couple of months earlier my wife had left the MasterCard at a restaurant, which prompted me to void that card and get a replacement. What would it have taken for the counter person "Sat" to call my cell phone and get a valid card number?....a couple of minutes? "Tina" also mentioned that there was no record of me calling?

Hotel has a shuttle for the airport and in the evening they can take you to close by restaurant at Holiday inn. You'll find few Lincoln Town cars outside hotel. They provide great service but have flat rates! I happen to negotiate on rates and got reasonable deal on DC sight seeing. It was 3 hrs and 15 min tour for $160. They were asking $60 an hour.
