Eger Health Care & Rehabilitation Center is part of Eger Lutheran Homes and Services. Started in 1916 as a home for Norwegian Lutherans in Brooklyn, N.Y., it is now operates a 370-bed residential health care facility. The center offers various on-site rehabilitative services, including physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapies, and rehabilitation medicine. It also provides skilled nursing and subacute care services that include intravenous and respiratory therapies, peritoneal dialysis, specialized wound care and total prenatal nutrition. Eger serves the continuing health care needs of senior community members by offering a range of services, including social adult day care and hospice care, and it operates an on-site 75-bed assisted living program facility. Located in Staten Island, N.Y., it is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
