A Very Special Place, also known as AVSP, is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of guidance and support programs and services for people with developmental disabilities. Founded in 1974, the organization serves more than 1,500 people with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, neurological impairment and autism-related disorders. It conducts employment training sessions and offers job placement services. The organization operates a senior care and activity center that provides various leisure activities, such as arts and crafts, exercises and cooking. A Very Special Place offers transportation service for day programs, recreational and educational activities and special outings. The organization also provides financial support services for eligible individuals and their families. It offers after-school programs that include homework assistance, mentoring and tutoring services.
