Cecil H. Green Library houses approximately 3 million research volumes in the fields of social sciences and humanities, including area studies, interdisciplinary fields and government documents. Its collections include more than 6,000 periodicals and journal titles and over 350 current newspapers. The library has a nearly 20,000 volume reference collection that supports the Information Center Desk. Cecil H. Green Library operates the Humanities and Area Studies Research Center, which contains a reference collection of approximately 13,000 volumes. It provides interlibrary services and features bender, lane reading and group study rooms. The library maintains the Media Microtext Center, which houses media and microform collections of Stanford University in California.
