Founded in 1952, Garfield Elementary School offers a variety of educational opportunities to students in kindergarten through grade six. The school s curriculum includes reading, music, art, physical education and math. It maintains a library and cafeteria. Garfield Elementary School operates a parent-teacher association that serves as a resource for students, parents and staff members. It administers special education programs for students with learning disabilities. The school maintains yarn, bridge, game, and fitness and running clubs. Garfield Elementary School provides nursing and guidance counseling services, as well as conducts the Title I program. It is a part of Fairfax County Public Schools.
