General Info

The Woman's Town Club of Springfield, Ohio, was founded in 1922 to provide local women with a center for social and civic activities. Their clubhouse, the Clementine Berry Buchwalter home, the former 805 East High Street residence of Captain E. L. Buchwalter, would provide hospitality for decades of club parties originated by women from all over the United States. Clementine Berry Buchwalter opened her residence to the local women for gatherings. Out of this grew the foundation of the Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs. This beautiful 1852 historic mansion, situated just moments from downtown, is one of the oldest homes in Springfield. The Woman's Town Club mission is "to provide a social center for citizens in the Springfield area community and to maintain the preservation of this gracious historical home."
