Beware. The Miinute Clinics DO NOT.....DO NOT....SUBMIT ANY INSURANCE CLAIMS......EVER.......When they say they "accept most insurance plans" in their Websites it is a HUGE MISREPRESENTATION.......Translated: YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY THE FULL AMOUNT UP FRONT AT THE TIME OF SERVICE AND THEN IT IS UP TO YOU TO SUBMIT A CLAIM LATER TO GET REIMBURSED. You show up sick and vulnerable after communicating on a kiosk on line thing ...not with a person from whom you could ask a question....and then....THEN find out that you will have to pay the full amount AT THAT MOMENT and max out your credit card......Soooooo....in addition the insurance companies who allow these scams to be on their own Provider Lists without any warning of the potential financial exploitation of their clients ENABLE this corruption. Also...they charge a 139$ NEW PATIENT COMPREHENSIVE charge before getting to anything else.(with Minute Clinic business model most or almost all WALK IN patients are going to be new....so they ALL get hosed for 139$ baseline? Really? Yep!) So is you have a simple sore throat you are looking at 180$ after the 35$ strep test. So you have two choices....1. If you have insurance go to the REAL URGENT CARE LOCATION posted down a little further on your health insurance provider list and pay the CoPay and deal with whats left later with billing 2. if you are uninsured ....do NOT go to a Minute Clinic and get overcharged as much as 100% The same sore throat visit that costs 180$ at Minute Clinic will cost 80 to 80$ at a Walgreens Clinic. In either scenario....avoid these scams like the plague........ Update------within 48 hours this patient had to be seen at a REAL Urgent CARE and required IV Fluids..Steroids....Antiemetics bc the UNTREATED bacterial infection had progressed to upper airway and esophageal/epiglottic swelling and severe dehydration. The patient was THEN prescribed the appropriate medications upon release. At this point they needed FOUR PRESCRIPTIONS. Stay away from Minute Clinics and especially Rosa Nuyen......
