Established in 1998, Dairy Farmers of America Inc. is one of the leading milk marketing cooperatives and dairy food processors in the United States. Serving more than 17,000 members, the cooperative owns approximately 20-processing plants which produce American and Italian cheeses, butter and a wide range of dairy ingredients. Based in Springfield, Mo., Dairy Farmers of America Inc. delivers its daily products to various joint-venture partners, such as Roberts Dairy, Hiland Dairy and Dean Foods.
