Founded in 1988, Bailey Alternative High School is one of the oldest alternative schools in Missouri. The school serves more than 250 students annually. It is governed by Springfield Public Schools, which serves more than 24,000 students and manages over 50 schools in Missouri. The school district operates through administration, accounting and curriculum, purchasing, human resources, food and nutrition, and instruction departments. Springfield Public Schools additionally manages various elementary, middle and high schools, as well as an early childhood center. Bailey Alternative High School is located in Springfield, Mo.
