My wife and I purchased a 2003 Hyundai Sante Fe from Amazing Auto at a good price. This was a cash deal and the vehicle was sold "as is" meaning no warranty whatsoever. The very day we purchased the vehicle a small problem came up. I called the owner, Andy, and explained the issue to him. He was under no obligation to repair the vehicle but told me he would take care of it. The next day we dropped the vehicle off to him for repair. It was fixed that afternoon and Andy personally delivered the vehicle to our home. Top notch customer service! They went above and beyond what they were required to do. I will recommend them to anyone I know looking for a vehicle, and I will be a return customer!
I had previously spoken to the owner about trading my Audi straight-across for their Dodge Stratus. We were waiting for my title to come back, so when I got it this week I went to the dealership to finalize the deal. The owners wife drove my car and said it was leaking oil (I hadnt noticed have any spots in my driveway), and she made a big deal out of the fact the air didnt work. I felt bad, so when they told me I would have to kick in a few hundred dollars, I agreed. I thought it was odd when they said they were cash only but I took the Stratus to the ATM to get the money. Tammy was to complete the paperwork while I was gone.Foolishly, I put $20 of gas in the Stratus because it was past empty. I also kicked on the air and noticed in the 10 minutes I was gone it never got cold. When I got back, I told Tammy there was a problem and the air wasnt working. She informed me it had been. I told her the compressor seemed to kick on and off, but the air never got cold. She basically called me a liar, handed my title back to me and said oh well, we tried. A bit stunned, I told her I had put $20 of gas in the car and produced the receipt. Her exact words were what do you expect me to do about it? I told her I expected her to reimburse me for the gas I put in the car since we werent doing a deal. That is when she lost it. She told me she didnt have any money, she wasnt paying me anything, demanded I leave and threatened to call the police and have me thrown out. It was totally bizarre. I told her I thought we could sit down and work it out, but maybe calling the police was a good idea. Her response was to say I was embarrassing my daughter. That is one button that any parent can understand as way below the belt. I did not raise my voice, but I informed her to leave my kid out of it.When she realized the threat of calling the police was not going to intimidate me, she said she would give me $10 if I would leave. She called her husband in from the back and asked for a $10 bill. When he pulled out a $20, she had him get two tens from one of their employees. When I got home I noticed a large scrape and blue paint around the rear passenger wheel well area that was not there before. You can draw your own conclusions, but to me this dealership is the epitome of shady with a hint of instability mixed in. Definitely not professional.I do not know these people and have absolutely zero motivation to lie or exaggerate any of this. My hope is to prevent someone else from being taken advantage of or having the aggravation and degradation I endured at this business
