The Sangamon Area Special Education District, also known as SASED, offers a range of learning options. It serves more than 10 school districts in Sangamon, Menard, Macoupin and Cass counties in Illinois. The district offers educational options to students between the ages of 3 and 21 with disabilities. The Sangamon Area Special Education District provides services to children with visual impairments and emotional disorders. It also offers speech and language therapies. The district administers autism hope partnership and early childhood education programs. The Sangamon Area Special Education District conducts the Cohort program in collaboration with Eastern Illinois University. It serves New Berlin Community Unit 16 and Pleasant Plains Community Unit School District 8. The district additionally provides several community-based education options.
