They also opened the north store up near their competition, Illini Pools, and try to undercut their prices or sell what they can at just slightly cheaper prices than Illini Pools. The products they sell usually offer long warranties, BUT, are so easily voided they told me not to even mention warranties to customers. For example, they sell an above ground with a 30 yr warranty on the pool wall. But if someone were cutting the grass and a small rock shoots out and scratches the pool, it doesn't matter who did it or how, if the scratch is there then the entire warranty is voided. It wasn't rare for me to hear a customer say, " I know my prices, so i'm going to shop elsewhere." and then watch them walk out. I'm amazed they stay in business. But it seems the primary customers they get are people who don't care if they get overcharged or not. (very unwise no matter how wealthy you are imo)

Don't waste your time with this business. They are greedy business owners who try to make as much money as possible with doing as little work as they can. Everything that they sell is priced at double what they paid for it at a MINIMUM. I know this from doing inventory for them. They instruct employees to never allow a customer to know what they had paid for a product. I was also told to never use their suppliers names in front of customers, because some of them sell to the public, and they don't want their customers to know they can get the same product cheaper somewhere else. They built a new store, with a different name, that they refer to as the north store because they don't want the public to know they own it. They would rather the public assume both are seperately owned businesses that they can shop between.

This company engages in fradulent activity. They provided extremely poor services and then overcharged us. They then added 300.00 in fake charges after being reported to the Better Business Bureau. I would avoid doing business with them!!!!!!

My level of frustration with Pool Center is through the roof right now. I purchased a winterizing system from them, and over the course of the winter, it detached and ripped our liner. On February 15, I purchased a new liner from them, which was my mistake. Three months later, they still had not received our liner, nor had I received any phone calls explaining the delay. Installation was supposedly scheduled, but we never received a phone call to verify. Husband took day off, we were told when WE called THEM that they'd be there first thing in the morning, and would call prior so that we'd have pool pumped out. No phone call. And apparently "first thing" means sometime between 10 and 11 a.m. They will receive absolutely NO MONEY from me in the future. Their communication with customers is horrendous.

This business hires outside installers of the pool.

The business is ran by the owners who seem very nice at first. They hire outside people to install all of their pools. I purchased a pool at the beginning of the month. I am already into the second month and am still waiting for my pool. The owners have been contacted several times that our pool has not been installed. Their response is: "Have you called the installers? Oh, the installer is catching up on other pools. I am sorry about this, can I give you another number of another pool installer?" So, they pretty much do not take any responsibility with the scheduling of their pool installers. Also, the owners say they will not call their pool installers more than once a day or their pool installers will quit their job. Additionally, my husband and I wanted to cancel our transaction with this business and their threatened us with a 20% restocking fee. We will not buy any chemicals or parts from this business in the future. We warn you not to do business with them.
