Memorial Health System Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, located in Springfield, Ill., is a full-service laboratory. It offers a wide range of routine and specialty services for inpatient and outpatient medical care. The department also offers a variety of educational options to medical students and resident physicians at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Memorial Health System Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology additionally provides clinical laboratory and scientific and educational programs to medical technologists in affiliation with the University of Illinois at Springfield. The department has a staff of more than 150 medical technologists and laboratory support personnel.
